Using Appliance Parts to Break Out of Home Design Prison

Interior design, decor, and staging, all go a long way toward making an available home look attractive to a buyer. With the large number of pre-owned homes going up for sale, or down to foreclosure and bank ownership, there is a lot of concentration on how best to decorate and design new homes, and "stage" homes that need to be re-sold.

One of the latest trends in home decoration, as well as many other arts, is the eccentric, unique, and functional look. For instance, much like jewelry makers have been known to use hardware parts like easy links, nuts, and bolts, interior designers and artists have even been known to let spare appliance parts double as decorative accents, when arranged properly. These decorative pieces can then be dismantled so the spare parts can be used, when needed.

A fan of refrigerator magnets, who also happens to be a slightly crafty type, might appreciate the functional elegance and creativity created by simply attaching magnets to frigidaire parts. Magnets have also been known to go on to dishwashers, especially those used to designate whether the contained dishes are clean or dirty.

What some people might not know is that some dishwashers have removable and reversible front panels with different colors and designs, thus contributing to the flexibility of a kitchen's design scheme, and making such pieces as maytag parts functional and thoughtfully decorative. Oven repair pieces, such as those from kenmore parts, include lots of valuable copper and piping, which can be manipulated and shaped into intricate designs for any number of uses and decorative findings.

Similarly, whirlpool parts include useful items for repairs and unintended decoration such as cook top and range parts, icemaker parts, even blades, switches, and other garbage disposal parts. In short, some may prize the parts and equipment for the metals involved, and some may opt to use the parts for actual repairs and might not even think of using them for purposes other than what they were built. The more creatively minded, however, will never be short on materials for art or functionality. The kitchen does not have to be the cold, stale operating room it was when the house was brand new.

Adding a little flair through the use of magnets and Maytag parts on a dishwasher door, or fastening Frigidaire parts to cabinets as a replacement for handles adds a level of warmth and personality that cannot be matched by any high polished chrome surface. While there will always be buyers who only want a home in "as-new" condition, many of today's families are looking to find ways to make their house a home, and thinking outside the box with decorating schemes provides a helpful step in that direction.
